April 2025 Minutes

1. CALL TO ORDER

PRESIDENT – Grace Cazes called the meeting to order with the Opening Prayer of St. Francis and Pledge of Allegiance.

2. ROLL CALL/NAME TAGS

VICE PRESIDENT – – In Lynn Hitchcock’s absence, President Grace Cazes provided the roster to all attendees to note their presence at the meeting. Prayer requests are included on this sheet. There were no guests present. Kathy Madere requested a new nametag as she has lost the original one given when joined the auxiliary.

3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM LAST MEETING

RECORDING SECRETARY – Bethany Sclafani asked if there were any responses from members to March minutes issued via email on 3/28/25. There were no edits and the minutes were unanimously approved as written.

4. CARDS SENT FOR BIRTHDAYS, ANNIVERSARIES, MISCELLANEOUS

CORRESPONDING SECRETARY – Laura Roshto reported on cards sent, etc.

5. ACCOUNT BALANCE

TREASURER – Eretta Perrien reports expenses and account balance. First communion gifts were also discussed noting there will be 12 youth making their first communion. President Grace Cazes proposed a Vinyl Wallet Set from the Catholic Bookstore catalog that was passed around. There were no other recommendations and there is enough in the line item budget to cover the cost and this was approved unanimously.

6. NEW BUSINESS ITEMS TO DISCUSS

A. Name tag collections - $1.50 was collected from name tags.

B. Lady of the Month – for the month of April was Jo Littrell for her dedication and calm demeanor as she serves the parishioners at the fish fry.

C. KC Fish Fry Events – April 4 & 11. (Family Center) Both tilapia & fried will be offered. $10/plate (NO OTHER COOKING EVENTS IN THE MONTH OF APRIL)

D. APRIL 2025 Community Donation Ideas- Ildi Gajda mentioned Metanoia House and Lorraine Lauret recommended the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank. Faye Coorpender made a motion to donate $300 to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank and Geri Blazek seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously to give $300 to GBR Food Bank.

E. M. MANNINO NIFTY 50/50 GAME – was not played as the game was not available.

F. Officers for 2025 – 2026 (Nominations in April - Open Friday 4/4 – close Friday 4/25) (Voting May)- President Grace Cazes explained that Lorraine Lauret would be accepting the confidential nominations to create the ballot. She then asked current officers if they would be continuing to serve. Laura Roshto, Corresponding Secretary, Eretta Perrien as Treasurer and Bethany Sclafani as Recording Secretary all stated they would continue to serve if no one else wanted to serve in that capacity.

President Grace Cazes then stated that President and Vice President would be open and would be seeking nominations. She urged members to consider who may serve and to speak to them before nominating anyone.

7. KC OFFICER MEETING INFORMATION

•KC Adoration Program - if you wish to attend Adoration (Wed 9-10am or Thurs 1-2pm), please contact Mike Giroir.

• KC Rosary –May 31, July 12, Aug 23, Oct 4, Nov 15, Dec 27, Feb 7– Prior to 4:00pm Mass

• Awards Banquet –Saturday, May 10th. Ashley Manor, $25/person.

• Special Olympics Bocce Ball Tournament – asking for volunteers to officiate during the tournament. You would arrive by 8:00am ending at 2:00pm on April 12th located at Community Bible Church – 8354 Jefferson Hwy. Must attend practice session on Saturday April 5th at 9:00am Independence Park in the tennis building. You will observe the game and be taught the rules. Contact Marty Mumphrey, 225-439-3219.
