May 2025 Minutes

1. CALL TO ORDER

PRESIDENT – Grace Cazes called the meeting to order with the Opening Prayer of St. Francis and Pledge of Allegiance.

2. ROLL CALL/NAME TAGS

VICE PRESIDENT – Lynn Hitchcock was absent and President Grace Cazes provided the roster to all attendees to note their presence at the meeting. Prayer requests were included on this sheet. There were no guests.

3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM LAST MEETING

RECORDING SECRETARY – Bethany Sclafani asked if there was any response from members to April minutes issued via email on 4/25/25. There were none so President Grace Cazes approved the minutes as written.

4. CARDS SENT FOR BIRTHDAYS, ANNIVERSARIES, MISCELLANEOUS

CORRESPONDING SECRETARY – Laura Roshto reported on cards sent, etc.

5. ACCOUNT BALANCE

TREASURER – Eretta Perrien reported on expenses and account balance.

6. NEW BUSINESS ITEMS TO DISCUSS

A. Officers for 2025 – 2026 Election (New Officer Installation Saturday, 6/14 after 4:00pm Mass) President Grace Cazes read the ballot that was compiled by Nominating Committee Chair Lorraine Lauret, and it is listed below: A motion was made to accept the ballot as presented by Ildi Gajda and seconded by Diane Legendre. All were in favor unanimously.

Corresponding Secretary - Laura Roshto

Board Member - Grace Cazes

B. Name tag collections – Julie Giroir was absent so .25 was given to Treasurer, Eretta Perrien. It was discussed that a 2nd nametag can be requested at this time at no additional cost. New name tag was requested by Diane Legendre.

C. Meeting Place – will change to a meeting room possibly through June 2026 as the church renovation requires the church to be relocated into the Family Center.

D. Lady of the Month – May was Lynn Hitchcock for supervising the fried fish line and helping ladies work more efficiently.

E. KC Fish Fry Events – Total profits $6,967.00 (Average served = 191/week, first week being 267 served)

F. MAY 2025 Community Donation Ideas – Eretta Perrien presented on BR Soldier Outreach and there was discussion to also contribute to Metanoia House as is our annual custom. It was proposed to contribute either $300 to each charity or $400 to BR Soldier Outreach and $200 to Metanoia House. A vote was taken and the $400/$200 amounts were approved respectively.

G. M. MANNINO NIFTY 50/50 GAME – Faye Coorpender declared Andreal St. Cyr the winner of $7.50.

7. KC OFFICER MEETING INFORMATION

•KC Adoration Program - if you wish to attend Adoration (Wed 9-10am or Thurs 1-2pm), please contact Mike Giroir.

•KC Rosary –Julie & Mike Giroir will lead at 4 pm Mass on May 31st.

• Awards Banquet –Saturday, May 10th. Ashley Manor, $25/person. 6:00 pm

• KC/Auxiliary Officer Installation Ceremony – June 14th in Church after 4:00pm Mass

8. ONGOING BUSINESS

A. Sanctuary House/St. Patrick House: No update was provided.

B. Fun Things to Do – Lorriane Lauret recommended another visit to St. John’s Catholic Church in Zachary, LA.
